Applus+, through its Automotive Division, has taken part in the International Symposium on Vehicle Inspection & Certification (ISIC 2018) in New Delhi. This key international event for the vehicle inspection and certification industry was organised by the International Centre for Automotive Technology. Applus+ Vice-President Hans-Jürgen Schimpgen helped to launch the event.
The event served to raise awareness of the Applus+ brand in one of the Automotive Division’s strategic markets. The Division plans to roll out its inspection and certification services in India over the coming months.
This third ISIC event, which took place on 29th and 30th November 2018, brought together more than 150 automotive industry experts, along with a number of representatives of India’s Department of Transport.
Over the course of two days, attendees could choose from more than 20 sessions covering a range of topics related to statutory vehicle inspection and certification. This year saw a special focus on recent advances in the fields of safety and emissions.
Experts discussed the techniques used in periodic vehicle inspections around the world, new certification technologies and the role played by regional and national government.
The event highlighted the benefits of establishing vehicle inspection centres in India, as well as the challenges involved. It was important to underscore the need for statutory vehicle inspection in India and the key role it plays in road safety and reducing the number of road accidents.
By participating in this kind of strategic industry event, Applus+ Automotive – a division focused on providing statutory vehicle inspection services and gas- and emissions-testing solutions – can extend its global reach and explore new business opportunities. Indeed, India provides us with a unique opportunity to expand our services in Asia.
