Applus+ Automotive, the world’s second largest statutory vehicle inspection operator, strengthens its position in Argentina and Chile, where it has been in operation since 1997 and 2004 respectively, thanks to a number of new contracts.
Specifically, Applus Iteuve Argentina has been awarded two concessions for the rollout of Vehicle Technical Verification services (VTV) in the city of Buenos Aires.
The two concessions, the maximum number permitted per company in the tender specifications, were awarded by the Selection Committee of the Buenos Aires City Government after they scored highest among all bids.
Applus+ only recently entered the VTV field, just this September launching its computerised allocation of attention shifts system in inspection plants. The service includes verification of, among other things, tyre status, a variety of safety elements (belts, head restraints, reflective markers) and the suspension system, lights, chassis, tyres, steering, emissions and brakes.
The onset of VTV activity in the Argentinian capital is a milestone whose impact will eventually be felt throughout the country.
With these concessions, Applus+ strengthens its presence in the two most important jurisdictions in Argentina: Buenos Aires province and Buenos Aires city.
In Chile, Applus+ Automotive has won four concession contracts from the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications after submitting bids that showed both a commitment to service quality and competitive rates, a key factor in the Chilean market.
Specifically, between 2013 and 2015, the company was awarded contracts that would last until 2024 authorising it to operate out of ten different plants: five in the Metropolitan region, three in Araucanía and two in Valparaíso.
Today, Applus+ has five plants in the Metropolitan region and two more in the IX region.
The company’s unique selling points include a personalised and immediate service, the provision of detailed information on every issue after inspection, and competitive prices. It also gives customers the chance to evaluate its services through satisfaction surveys, both on site and online.
