Applus+ Bilsyn, a member of the Applus+ Group and an accredited vehicle inspection company in Denmark, has acquired its main competitor, the Finnish-owned A-Inspektion. They lattery will now operate under the Applus+ Bilysn brand and bring the total number of Applus+ Bilsyn inspection centres to 138, 27 of which were a result of this acquisition.
Applus+ Bilsyn, a member of the Applus+ Group and an accredited vehicle inspection company in Denmark, have acquired their main competitor, the Finnish owned A-Inspektion. They will now operate under the Applus+ Bilysn brand and bring the total number of Applus+ Bilsyn inspection centres to 138, of which 27 were acquired following this acquisition.
Since the vehicle inspection market in Denmark was privatised back in 2005, it resulted in a number of new operators into the Danish market, this lead to increase competition and resulted in current providers having to review their operations. This involved exploring new ways of delivering the service such as providing extended opening hours and drive in vehicle inspections. When Applus+ Bilsyn initially commenced discussions with A-Inspektion, they quickly felt that they would be the perfect fit for them, not just for commercial reasons such as the geographical locations of their 27 inspection centres but how they operated their inspections centres.
According to Per V. Rasmussen, CEO of Applus+ Bilsyn this acquisition represents a new challenge for them to ensure they continue to provide an efficient service for its customer’s guaranteeing that that their vehicles will continue to be inspected to a very high quality. He continued to state that he believes customers will benefit greatly from the acquisition with new increased opening times, more locations and a high level quality end to end vehicle inspection service. Applus+ Bilsyn will continue to operate under a clearly defined strategy and structure consisting of the solid values which are the core of the customer service they provide. These two companies have built a very close relationship with its customers and business customers through an invaluable follow up and feedback process which enables us to react to our customers needs in an efficient and effective manner. It is imperative that this continues with this acquisition and to date it is clear from the feedback and recent survey results that our customers are extremely satisfied with the service our employees provide them with on a daily basis.
Within Denmark, the location of the inspection centres and the high standard of quality of the inspection are of upmost importance to the customer. Through this acquisition, Applus+ Bilysn can continue to provide more centrally located inspection centres in cities such as Fredericia, Kolding, Greve and Esbjerg which are easily accessible and account for a large volume of the 600,000 vehicle inspections conducted annually in Applus+ Bilysn Inspection centres.
