Applus+ sells its vehicle inspection business in Finland to focus on higher-growth end markets.
Applus+, a global testing, inspection and certification company, is pleased to announce it has sold 100% of K1 Katsastajat Oy (“K1 Katsastus” from now on), its statutory vehicle inspection operations in Finland to A-Katsastus Group.
This divestment is in line with the active portfolio management announced in the Applus+ Strategic Plan to focus on portfolio mix quality-improvement.
“It has been a privilege working with all the employees at K1 Katsastus and I want to thank them for their commitment and hard work. I have no doubt they will continue to efficiently provide this important service in Finland for many years to come”, says Aitor Retes, SVP of Applus+ Automotive.
“I am pleased to say it was a smooth process with a good outcome for all concerned. For us, this is another step forward in the execution of the Strategic Plan we announced at the end of last year. I wish all the employees at K1 Katsastus the very best for the future”, says Joan Amigó, CEO of Applus+.
The main service of K1 Katsastus is light and heavy vehicle inspections through its network of 84 centres and 137 people. It also provides technical vehicle inspections, vehicle certificates and registration services and condition checks for commercial customers. The revenue in 2021 was €14 million.
