Applus +, a global testing, inspection and certification company, and the world leader in the vehicle-inspection market, is opening a new technical vehicle inspection station at Miller Bajo (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain). The new station will directly employ 30 workers and will give a boost to the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria vehicle park, which is subject to statutory periodic inspections.
The new facility has a surface area of 700 square metres and is located in the Miller Bajo Industrial Park in downtown Las Palmas. The station, which has two inspection lines equipped with the latest vehicle-inspection technology, also has waiting areas, gardens and ample parking on a 3,000-square-metre plot.
The centre will operate seven days a week, with users able to make online appointments – with a 5% discount – at www.applusitv.com and www.itv-laspalmas.com. Customers will also have access to free Wi-Fi and coffee while their vehicle is being inspected.
Aitor Retes, Executive Vice President of Applus+ Automotive, said: "The opening of these new facilities demonstrates the Applus+ commitment to the Canary Islands. We are expanding our network of stations to provide our customers with the latest technical advances, to ensure their safety and to improve the service we provide during inspections. This development in Gran Canaria reflects our wider commitment to road safety and environmental protection".
Applus+, the world's leading vehicle-inspection company, has carried out 16 million vehicle inspections worldwide and has a network of 51 centres throughout Spain. It now manages 6 stations in the Canaries: Miller, Arinaga and Jinámar in Gran Canaria; and Güimar, San Miguel and Adeje in Tenerife.
