Developed by Applus+ Iteuve and ENAC accredited, the GPSi has the ability to verify the metrological control of taximeters by way of a GPS based equipment.
This portable tablet-like device contains taximeter verification software that transmits the receiving of data from an external high-frequency GPS antenna. The system was successfully calibrated in 2012 by Spain’s metrological centre, the Centro Español de Metrología. Following this in 2013, the Generalitat de Catalunya approved its use in all Applus+ vehicle-inspection centres in Catalonia.
Applus+ Iteuve are now in a position to present the GPSi system to a number of public authorities and administrations throughout Spain.
By so doing, Applus+ Iteuve hope to expand its use in a number of other regions, thereby reaping the rewards of our technological advancements and efforts.
We have, furthermore, negotiated a commercial marketing agreement, both at National and International level, with Beissbarth-Capatest (a Bosch-group company). They showcased the GPSi system at a recent CITA (International Motor Vehicle Inspection Committee) Congress in Seville where the GPSi was received very positively by participants.
Applus+ Automotive are in a very unique position as there are no others products on the market that can offer the same benefits to the industry in terms of verification of taximeters.
The GPSi is accredited and falls under the ENAC accreditation.
